Metal Pressings & Stampings
Our well-equipped power press shop is capable of producing metal pressings and stampings using up to 150-tonne presses. We also use hydraulic presses to carry out more difficult, deep drawn pressings and stampings. Our ability to produce such a wide range of machined components enables our customers to source a variety of jobs in one place, and this allows them to conserve time, money and resources.
We are able to use a wide range of materials in manufacture depending on the application of the product, from mild steel, copper and aluminium to brass and stainless steel. As many of our customers demand more complex assemblies, they can be assured that they can source their total product manufacture from Albert Jagger Engineering due to the fact that we bring together a variety of other materials with pressings to produce larger, more complicated assemblies.
Metal Pressings: Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a great choice of material to reduce finishing costs, but it can have severe repercussions if not handled and manufactured in the right way. With the endless specifications and compositions of stainless steel, it is always best to seek advice on the most suitable variant for function and manufacture. At Albert Jagger Engineering, we have the ability to take your metal pressings from prototype to mass production, creating a reliable, sustainable and recyclable product.
As stainless steel doesn’t require a protective finish, the additional cost of the raw material compared to cheaper mild steel is often absorbed by the reduced need for post-processing.
Metal Pressings: Aluminium
Despite being a light metal with a density of 2.6 to 2.8g/cm3, aluminium is still an extremely strong material. Its manufacturing possibilities are incredibly versatile and can be used for pressing, forming, welding, assembling and studding. Due to its impact resistance and strength, aluminium is a sustainable and durable choice for a range of applications, especially as dents will not weaken the structure as it would with steel.
